Our Ministries

Nursery:  Staffed nursery on Sunday mornings, after the song service,
for ages 0-4.

Kid’s Church:  An exciting ministry for ages 5-8 after the Sunday morning song service (except whenever there is a 5th Sunday in the month.)  Kid’s Church includes music, Bible verses, stories, crafts, etc.)  The children’s offerings support a child in Latin America Child Care.

Family of God Day:  Whenever there is a 5th Sunday of a month, children remain in the sanctuary (instead of going to Children’s Church) for a combined service with the youth and adults.  This service is more interactive with children involved.

On Target:  A discipleship ministry for ages 9-12.  “Hands-on” activities and projects combined with Bible. Currently, an air rifle program emphasizing safety and marksmanship. This program runs in the Fall, Winter and Spring.

MOPS (Mother of Preschoolers) groups are local communities that help moms be better moms by understanding their unique needs, challenges and joys — in this vital season of early mothering. For over 35 years, MOPS has been creating authentic communities where moms gather to experience encouragement, support and hope. Through training and development customized to women in this stage of life, and through do-able service opportunities, MOPS grows moms to make a better world. Every mom is welcomed, accepted and inspired to reach her potential and recognize her influence within her family and her world. MOPS believes that better moms really do make a better world. Not only do moms have the opportunity to sit back, relax, and recharge, they will be surrounded by a positive, Christ-focused environment while learning tips and skills to make them the best mom they can be.

Encounter: A youth ministry (ages 13-18) focused on discipleship and the study of scripture. This occurs in weekly gatherings, events, conventions, and camps throughout the year.

Prayer:  Sunday mornings at 9:00 A.M. at the church.

Sunday Worship Service:  10:00 A.M.  A time of praise and worship to God,
followed by teaching from the Bible.
Indoor Storm Window Project:
We have chop saws, a drill press, and five workstations and jigs for building interior storm panel inserts.  These make an amazing difference for warmth, even for double-glazed windows! We teach people how to build the first one, then they build their own.  Frames are made of 1 x 2 pine and then both sides are covered with double-glazing of heat-shrink plastic.  Panels are then surrounded with weather stripping and make a snug fit into the window opening.  Open to the community, and cost is $1.10 per square foot.  The program runs in the winter on Saturday mornings as announced, call the church at 207-667-8998 for details.  Click here for basic instructions on what you need to make storm windows.

Growth Groups:
Sermon-based small group home meetings (based on the previous Sunday’s sermon) that meet in the Fall, Winter and Spring.  Groups meet 10 weeks, break for 2 weeks and then start up again.  Questions are handed out each Sunday for the group discussion for the following week.  These groups open with an “icebreaker” type question, then move to Bible reading, application, and then prayer.  The questions are usually simple and are not just a re-hash of Sunday’s message, but an expansion and application of it.  These groups are fantastic! Starting with the sessions in January 2014, the growth group questions will be available as a pdf under the sermons available to download. Men's and Women's Ministry:
Various meetings, retreats, projects and activities throughout the year.
