We are centrally located in Ellsworth, Maine, at the crossroads of “Down East Maine”. We are just off the path to beautiful Acadia National Park and Mount Desert Island where many people come from all over the world to visit. We welcome you to join us for worship.
Why attend church?
“Church” means “called out ones”, not “building”. In the book of Hebrews in the Bible we read, “And let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds. Let us not give up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but let us encourage one another—and all the more as you see the Day approaching.” (Hebrews 10:24-25).
The Bible encourages us to meet together as the people of God and all the more as [we] see the Day approaching. This is referring to the “Day of the Lord”--the time when God will wrap up human history as we know it. Many think that world events are bringing us closer to that Day.
Are you a “called out one”—one that is drawn to God?
You are commanded in scripture to meet regularly with brothers and sisters in Christ. Are you uncertain? By attending you will hear the scriptures and have opportunity to learn on a level you have not experienced before.
Perhaps it would be better to ask, “Who doesn’t need to gather to worship God?” “Who doesn’t need encouragement toward love and good deeds?” “Who doesn’t need help in living for God in these days?”
Why should I attend Ellsworth Assembly?
In general, this is a place where people are real and transparent, not plastic and hypocritical. It is a place where the Word of God--the Bible--is given its proper place. It is a place of interaction of believers and nonbelievers who are working out faith in God. It is a place of accountability, but not condemnation. It is a place of great community service projects and variety of people. Ellsworth Assembly is a great church!
If you have a hunger for God, or want to know more about him—this is a place for you. If you want to participate in worship and ministry—this is a place for you.
